Did you know that if you purchase a recliner for your living room, it is 100% more likely that you will beat yourself to death with a recliner than if you did not own a recliner? So called "educators" are waaaay more dangerous than guns.
What are these people really afraid of? It can't be the Savage in Huxley's Brave New World, so it must be Simon Phoenix. The more of your independence one gives to the government the more at risk they are at being controlled by a group of social elites and their vision of the what "the evolving standards of decency that mark the progress of a maturing society” should be. Because I don't smoke doesn't mean I have the right to tell everyone else they can't smoke. Within a mature society, I can tell them where they can smoke such that it does not bother me. I can even tell them that I don't want to pay taxes for their cancer medical treatment because smoking is their decision. But I don't take away their liberty to smoke. If they want to talk about decisions on suicide, then they need to talk about smoking.
The gun control people want to disarm the American public so they will be easier to control, armed people tend to think for themselves and generally aren't easily stampeded into giving up their freedom. The gun control groups are part of what I can the wanna be nobility of a neo-feudal state they want to create.
