Sad, but emblematic of the anarchy caused by open borders and the absolute refusal of the Administration to secure them.

Is she dumb or dumber.“People in this town are very racist toward Hispanic people. They think right away if you're Mexican, you're illegal, and you're no good." Aha, there she is harboring an Illegal. And if it had been the other way around??? The tensions are there because of lack of enforcement.

The responsibility for this rests directly with the government and the failed immigration bill. Both Reid and Pelosi attempted to force a bill on the people against their will. If they would have dealt with this issue as the people wanted, local and federal law enforcement agencies would know how to handle this situation. Instead, law enforcement agents are in jail or dead, south of the border drug dealers can deal and murder at their leisure and the hard working immigrants (legal or illegal) are getting the brunt of the ill will. It is time for a Congress and leadership that does something besides blame.

If it went down as the article suggests, then the hooligans' butts should roast. That doesn't relieve the rest of us from asking "why" it happens, and that involves at least four factors - 1. the failure of our government to secure the borders; 2. the encouragement given to illegal immigration aspirants by the Mexican government, church groups, La Casa of Maryland and others; 3. flagrant disregard of the law by those Americans who hire illegals; 4. the vicious intolerance of a growing population of hoodlums. Unfortunately, with illegal immigration uncontrolled and the escalation of shrillness on both sides of the argument, the frequency of this kind of sad event is likely to increase.

Come on, how "racist toward Hispanic people" could the citizens of the town really be if this man has been employed there for over 6 years? Racists DON'T employ the people they hate.

This is sad! Americans are lazy and they complain too much. I hope McCain wins and then he gives citizenship to all the undocumented people living in this country. The so called "illegals" will be a good example for all Americans. They are hard working and they do not complain. I hope McCain will give these people a little help with education to. They can show our citizens how to study and work hard in school. McCain 2008!

how can anyone possibly think this tragedy was not racially motivated? give me a break! the "fights" of the 60s in the south were not "racially motivated" either, were they? until they were.
