I've always found the comment by Muslims, "We believe in one God," as said by King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, or "We have the same God," as other Muslims say, disingenuous.
To the contrary. Christians do not have the same God as Muslims. Christians believe in the Holy Trinity - Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and to Muslims, this is blasphemy.
Muslims believe Jesus to be one of their prophets and therefore, according to the Koran, and as the "people of the book," they are to be "protected" - that is AFTER the Christians have submitted to being inferior to the Islamic faith.
This submission is called "Dhimmitude."
Author and scholar, Bat Ye'or, who wrote, "The Decline of Eastern Christianity unde Islam: From Jihad to Dhimmitude," writes, "Jews and Christians under Islamic "protection" - concludes that Islamic "tolerance" had many negative aspects. She maintains it kept Christians, Jews and other conquered "infidel" peoples in a state of "Dhimmitude" - a term coined from the Arabic word dhimmi that describes their inferior status."
Bat Ye'or further writes, "The Islamist movement makes no secret of its intentions to convert the West. It's propaganda, published in booklets and sold in all European centers for the last thrity years, sets out its aims and the methods to achieve them.
"They include proselytism, conversion, marriage with local women and, above all, immigration. Remembering that Muslims always began as a minority in the conquered countries."
