The only problem with the claim of Rev. Moon's in being the Messiah is that he was put in charge of the providence until the Lord returned; something he never spoke about even though Rev. Moon has always known full well that he was the prophetic personage called by Matthew and Luke "the Faithful and Wise Steward/Servant". A short reading about this figure should prove self-evident that it describes Rev. Moon and his present situation itself exactly.

The Unification Church has had to explain two seemingly contradictory positions of Rev. Moon's claim to be the Messiah: the first is that if he is the Messiah then where is Elijah? No Elijah: no Messiah; as Lord Jesus said: "and where I am; there shall my servant be also". But here we are faced with the fact that John the Baptist was Elijah; even though he himself denied the fact; and Rev. Moon is John; even though he now denies the fact; just as John did before: this is because Rev. Moon IS John the Baptist: and in judging John the Baptist Rev. Moon hath JUDGED HIMSELF. And the other problem is that Rev. Moon claims that Joshua was in the symbolic position of the Lord of the Second Advent: forgetting it was the Tabernacle which represented the Body of Christ; not Joshua; who was the Captain of the Israelites Moses made a Prince: so that he could speak and correspond to his heavenly counterpart Michael; Prince of the Heavenly Host. It was for this reason that the Host of heaven was numbered "after the number of the number of the Children of Israel". Thus when Joshua was to enter Canaan the Prince of the Host Michael appeared and had him remove his shoes; standing in the Holy Place or 1st tabernacle; which Mt. Sinai signified; just as it's summit represnted the Holy of Holies where Moses met God.

The definitive proof of this can be seen by the fact that the Pillar of Fire represented the Law or Witness of Earth; as the Pillar itself stood for the Covenant of the Night before the Moon itself was restored later at the valley of Ajalon when Israel symbolically entered Paradise by being given the 10 words of the law; just as Adam entered Paradise after God made him promise to keep the One Commandment; Israel thus was given 10 times the indemnity on the national level that Adam had on the individual level. Furthermore this means that the Pillar of Cloud represented the Word as the Witness of Heaven ("as above all"); as the Pillar of Cloud itself represented the Covenant of Day until the Sun was restored at Gibeon; when Israel symbolically entered Paradise with the Jordan in the position of the Euprhrates the 2 great lights were also restored as the Masculine Principle and Feminine Principle; the oringinal rulers of the Day and the Night that the 2 Pillars had stood for until Israel entered Canaan itself. In this sense the Tabernacle represented the Word made flesh: which is why the Word or Pillar of Cloud would come down over the entrance of the Tabernacle; like Jesus later having the Dove come down on him at the Jordan which was for him the Euphrates itself; which is why John baptized there; for those who wished to "escape the Wrath of God to come".
