The author is wrong, Nancy Pelosi does have a legacy. Her legacy could be called through the looking glass. Everything she promised was just the opposite. She promised (1) To restore civility and bipartisanship – how many partisan investigations have been produced against the Republicans by the Democrats? (2) The most ethical and open Congress in history – who did she appoint to major posts and how many closed door sessions has she attempted to force legislation through the House? (3) Work with the President on Iraq – How many impotent “ making a statement” votes have been held on Iraq? Is the surge and war really lost? The results are 0 -1- 1. No significant legislation to help the country, one debacle (Biofuels) and one failure (Immigration). She has no idea how to manage the complexities of leadership, all she knows is how to manipulate colleagues suggestions toward ascension of power, regardless of the consequences to this nation. Just one question, will our returning veterans be able to use the facilities of the airports in her districts?

The price for political correctness remains high on both sides of the aisle..Never mind the qualifications, or lack there of, just keep on social engineering the country into a state of mediocrity.

Pelosi is an absolute disgrace. Her promises to do something about the price of gasoline has sure succeeded. Now we know what Pelosi premium means-$4 plus dollars a gallon almost doubling on her watch. She won't even let the house vote on OCS and ANWR drilling because she knows many of her fellow Demorats would vote yes. She is a real piece of work. Her brand of Democratic politics are ruining this countries economy and endangering it's security. Wake up citizens!

I don't think either Pelosi or Reid have been the quality leaders I was hoping for when Congress changed hands in 2006. As far as gas prices are concerned, I don't think the price is purely the responsibility of either Congress of the President; they both hold blame for the economic mess we are in due to overspending for the last eight years. I'm not sure you can place the failure of the Bush-supported Immigration plan at Congress' feet - it was a core of Republicans that ended the debate in Immigration policy. I'd love to both leaders of the Congress replaced with better members come January 2009.

Democrats never keep their promises and never take responsiblity for their actions, their failures are always because people interferred rather then the true causes, bad policy and not trying to do anything that might help a Republican.

Her blend of communist/socialist politics was doomed for failure. Instead of realizing and taking steps to correct her failures, she continues to support flawed policies and bad ideas. I will give her this though, nobody can come close to her ability at trying to pass the buck.

How ironic. And everytime I hear Pelosi and Reid whine about how the Iraqi parliment has failed to pass some bill, I wonder if she sees the irony. She constantly whines about Iraqi politicians failing to pass a bill on "oil revenue sharing". Well Pelosi, at least they have domestic oil revenue to haggle over. I am betting that if you had it your way there would not be any oil production in Iraq either. By the way, Bush had and still has credibility with this citizen. He has it and you have yet to obtain it and this is just more proof that you won't be getting any of it anytime soon.

Bush is the worst president in American history. Bush facilitated the 9/11 attacks. Subsequently, Bush lied to Congress and the American people relative to the reasons for invading Iraq. Bush purposefully misled Congress and the American people. Then, Bush murdered more than 4,000 United States service members. And Bush wounded more than 30,000 United States service members. In torturing prisoners of war, Bush patently violated the Geneva Convention. Bush unlawfully wiretapped United States citizens. In using “signing statements” to challenge hundreds of laws passed by Congress, Bush violated the Constitution. Bush has ignored global warming. Bush is guilty of criminal negligence relative to the response to Hurricane Katrina. Bush disobeys our democratic values and Constitution. Bush is a disgrace to the United States. Pelosi is right: Bush is a total failure. Submitted by Andrew Yu-Jen Wang B.S., With the Highest Level of Academic Honors at Graduation, 1996 Messiah College, Grantham, PA

White House officials and Senate Democrats met in private three times last week to craft health care legislation. Do you think these discussions should be more public?
