It must burn the right wing that they get no traction with the bulk of the American people with the success in Iraq. The only ones cheering up a storm are the 25% of the country that already think Bush walks on water and the last 7 1/2 years have been just what the country needed. The reality of Iraq to the vast bulk of the country is that it was a needless war, incompatently fought for years, enormously expensive and prevented us from eliminating the heart of Al Qeada. The fact that we have now brought about a stable Iraq is just a relief that finally it's over. The fools that landed us in Iraq in the first place get no points for finally solving a problem they themselves created.
"Mr. Obama said he will not "get boxed into what I consider two false choices" - an inflexible withdrawal timetable on the one hand, and the Bush strategy on the other."
So in other words, he does not care if we win or not. Even though he has been proven wrong at every turn in Iraq, he is still a defeatist. Now that Al Qaeda is hanging on by a thread in Iraq, the clown Obama wants to strike the tent and retreat to Afghanistan, to fight Al Qaeda. Nothing like a good boost to the moral of the troops that he claims he wants to send to Afghanistan.
