I recommend you read, Why The Greek Cypriots Said "NO!" that can be found at: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1128161/posts to give you an incite as to the true situation on Cyprus. Includes comments.
"Bruce Fein is a resident scholar with the Turkish Coalition of America," speaks volumes.
I don't think I've ever read a more absurd account of the Cyprus issue than this. It really doesn't deserve serious comment. As doctor said: 'Bruce Fein is a resident scholar with the Turkish Coalition of America,' says it all. Not much scholarship shown here, just pure, unadulterated propaganda. Poor show.
You are so biased, even before reaching the end something wasn't right. You talk with no reality of the truth, you talk as if it is the embargo on the North is only the Souths fault. You fail to give the true side & you sound as if it is the Greek Cypriots occupying the South and not the Turkish army occupying the North. You talk a load of rubbish & your comment is rubbish. Getting rid of all the Armies on the Island (as part of the Annan plan) will only allow the whole Island to become occupied by the Turks. 34 years is far too long and if the USA and GB really wanted a solution it would have been found many years ago. Why should we vote yes to the Annan plan - to end the division so the Turkish-Cypriots can achive a better life. Their lives are being held back by the regime in place and I have heared stories that the officers at the borders do not allow them to take their shopping from the South back to the North!! There's properganda for you.
This is the funniest political article I ever read in my life. Did this guy even visit Cyprus or just collecting checks from the Turkish Coalition of America?
Next thing they will ask the Greek-Cypriots to pay Turkey for their invasion costs in 1974. Although many of the Greek-Cypriot refugees died over the past 34 years, there are a few of us left scattered here and there around the world that know the truth. Suggest to wait about another 25 years and then re-write history.
