TWT FIVE: PROBLEMS WITH THE NEW ESPN 980
1. Baltimore Orioles — Thanks to the merger, we’re stuck with Orioles games with no other evening sports talk options.
2. Noon to 4 p.m. — Two unlistenable talk shows, back to back. It’s enough to make you miss Jim Rome.
3. Lack of variety — No more choices between local content, ESPN, Fox or games.
4. Phoning it in — Doc Walker’s first day on the new 980 format? He was on the phone. John Thompson does it all the time. It makes awful radio even worse.
5. Morning drive — All we’ve got is Mike & Mike and the Junkies, the latter being the only local option.
