Many of these returning veterans were doing TSA's job right after 911. If they trusted them with a loaded weapon then, what has changed with an unloaded weapon now? Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer and Diane Feinstein, where are you????? Isn't Oakland in your state? Oh yeah, I forgot, they support the troops but not torturers, murderers, Nazi's and betrayers among the troops. They can't let this kind loose on the likes of Code Pink. It looks like the 1960's spitting patriots aren't gone after all.
When my son returned from his first tour Iraq they had a lay over in New York and when they went out to a smoking area they were required to take off their tunics, boots and belts.
Besides that he said that he and his fellow Marines were treated with more respect and admiration in a foreign country during a layover than they were in New York.
This is nothing new. While returning from the Gulf in 1991 the military booked me in a commercial flight going to another overseas destination. We had a 3 hours layover in LA. All passengers were allowed to debark the plane and go into a small waiting area in the airport which only had bathrooms. I was not allowed to leave the waiting area to get a newspaper so I could catch up on what was going on during baseball's spring training even thought I had a military ID card and a passport. I was told I had to wait to read the newspapers provided on the plane. Well, since this was an overseas to overseas flight, none of the newspapers were from the US. This was before TSA. I can only imagine what our troops have to put up with these days.
