Another prime example of the Democrates "promissing" one thing, doing away with pork barrel spending, then doing another, spending more money on pork barrel spending. Liars, Lairs, Liars. I hope that all of the people that voted for the Democrates know this and are proud of them now. No wonder they want to raise our taxes, they have more pork barrel spending to do.

Amen. Go get 'em Coburn. It's unbelievable how little Congress cares for the American people they've sworn to represent. Behavior like this is why we fought a few wars against England for independence.

Anyone who thinks the Republicans spend like Democrats should look at this one bill, they will discover the difference. The Democrats are the people who started pork barrel spending and will continue is as long as people are foolish enough to elect them. At the same time the Democrats are spending so much money they are refusing to allow new drilling to ease the gas crisis. Intellignet people should vote these pigs out of office, and soon.

Our Congress again glistens with the worthless distance of career politicians. They tell us we just don't understand how Washington works. Well, we know every time we reach for our wallets only to find our money already senselessly spent, every time we pull up to a gas pump, stand in a grocery line or decide which medications we can afford. In the 60's we rallied and demonstrated for or against every cause under the sun. The time has come to stop Democrats from turning our republic into an unarmed, socialist state making us servants, not citizens. Stop corruption. And most impotantly, we the people must regain our voice in government.

Any senator who votes to approve this bill should be charged with theft and arrested. The criminals in elected office must be removed immediately before they completely dismantle the economic, political, and judicial systems of the country as well as destroy the U. S. as a sovereign nation.

Politicians are like diapers. They should be changed often... ... and for the same reasons.

A leader.Internet network.Organized opposition. Demonstrations in front of congressional bldgs. Saturate news media with our disgust, facts (such as this bill)(if they'll print views opposing their political philosophy). Put the fear of not being re-elected into these robber barons. This is what happens over the long-haul when only 36 % of Americans vote; we have given away our prerogative to govern ourselves. Do you e-mail your opinions to your senators and representative(s) ? I do, and I'm not wimpy about expressing my opinion -civilized, yes; trying to be nice and agreeable, NO.

This is smart politics. The Democrats get their spending AND get to rail against the "Bush" deficit. They are already running campaigns using the deficit and debt as an issue. They loudly point to this year's deficit as an issue all the while knowing many voters won't stop to think about the $168 billion "stimulus" bill they passed that is the largest single contributor this year to the deficit. Bush should veto this bill and claim that he is only doing so because of the his attempts to reduce the "Bush deficit".

I think Harry Reid is a bad person--as in psychotic.
