Most Americans are politically correct and have a swarm mentality, they are not risk-conscious. We spend too much time worrying over image. Risk requires an analysis of impacts on decisions. Image provides a social facade that biases outcomes toward the consensus, not an analysis. Global warming is the perfect example. Unequivocal is based on a consensus that hot spots, tree rings and linear trend with non-linear actual data (the hockey stick) can be combined and used to predict a climate crisis. Using a Y2K state of fear model, politicians and opportunists have convinced the civilized world that world that the carbon levels of 30 years ago can control the climate and prevent the predicted temperature from rising to disastrous proportions. They have shouted down the skeptics and made them pariah's and want us to invest 45 trillion dollars in a prediction model that violates 72 of 89 discernible weather prediction principles. This is not risk analysis, it is following the swarm. It is a perfect storm for global governance, the New World Order (checkout Chirac's statement of November 2000). Why else would all the developed world politicial leaders agree and China, India and developing nations not agree and even fear it. Americans are not risk-conscious or they wouldn't be turning over so much of that liability to the government, the media and Al Gore in return for their dollars.
