If Zorn is as good a QB coach as indicated, then he will know this PS whether Brennan is a potential NFL QB or not. I hope that Brennan is. I hope for the Redskins that he is. If he makes the team for the regular season, then it will be intriguing to watch him develop over the next several years.
Regarding myth number 2. Let's be frank: Hawaii didn't play much real competition and they struggled against the "good" teams of the WAC. The pounding they got from UGA is probably typical of what would have happened day in and day out had Hawaii and Brennan played in a tougher division.
Brennan was a decent QB and he rightfully got drafted as low as he did. Any QB could have put up impressive numbers against Hawaii's opponents. The problem was that both Brennan and Hawaii believed their own hype...
Also, which BCS teams did Hawaii "carve" up?
I'm not trying to pick on the kid but I got a little tired of his attitude last season and he seems to still have it. Georgia knocked him down a peg or two as did his status in the draft. The reason Jason Campbell does alright is because he played in the SEC and pretty much every week was a tough test.
Admittedly, Hawai did not play "real" competition. But why did mighty Michigan choose not to play Hawaii last season? This was a big ten team that begged off the scheduled game. Seems like a lot of big programs were not really interested in flying to Hawaii or even playing Hawaii on their own home field in FEAR of getting beat by a lowly WAC team. What happened to Oklahoma two years ago? That was a fluke game, huh? If Brennan had the O line from his junior year blocking for him his senior year they probably would have beaten Georgia. Brennan put last year's team on his back and carried them the whole season, especially the O line. Brennan was the most efficient and accurate passer in one of those off season combines.
To say that "Any QB could have put up impressive numbers against Hawaii's opponents" is irresponsible and disrespectful. There are eight other teams in the Western Athletic Conference, and not ONE of those teams' quarterbacks posted numbers anywhere near Brennan's. Come to think of it, no other QB in the NCAA did either. So, unless you possess the ability to toss 58 touchdowns in a single season, even against mediocre teams, you might want to think about dialing down the rhetoric. Your 15 minutes of fame is officially over.

How about:
Arizona State: 33-42, 559 yds., 5 TD/1 INT
Washington: 42-50, 442 yds., 5 TD/0 INT
Against ASU, all 5 TDs were in one half. And against Washington, his receivers dropped at least 4 easy balls. Would have been over 90% for the night, but 84% on 50 attempts ain't bad either. Don't believe me? Get a game tape.
Blah, blah, blah....sysetem QB, run and shoot offense, weak schedule etc....... Everyone hates on Brennan for all the hype he recieved. I'll bet his pass completion, which is never mentioned, really makes em cringe. Georgia did their homework and knew they could fly past the O-line and guess what......they did! getting rocked from weak protection doesn't make him less of a QB. Did everyone forget that Hawaii has NEVER been to a bowl game? That team did more for the state than has been ever done before. Sugar Bowl was one game and they still got paid for it LMAO! who cares who won? Let him do what he loves and put down the Haterade.
From the Post:
Backup quarterback Todd Collins completed 8 of 13 passes for 52 yards with one interception. Colt Brennan (4 of 7, 22 yards) and Derek Devine (2 of 6, 14 yards) are competing for the No. 3 job.
