In Arabic, the literal translation of jihad is mission.
When Arabic speaking persons hear others called jihadi, they wonder what sort of mission they are on. Most would be shocked to hear that the mission would be violent.
Calling an Islamic terrorist a Jihadi is like calling a Christian a missionary.
Call them Islamic terrorists, which is what they are, not jihadis.
