"Treaty advocates say don't mind the text, LOST obligations won't be enforceable in U.S. courts."
Those "treaty advocates" are lying. Once a treaty is ratified by Congress, all provisions contained within said treaty becomes US law and, therefor, the US Courts are obligated to treat it as such. This treaty will allow foreign governments, foreign special interest groups, and even foreign citizens to sue the US Government, any and all US States, and even individual US citizens in US court for any and all perceived violations like land-based CO2 "polluting" the seas , along with other legal possibilities like forcing the transfer of technology and information to others without fair compensation, something which is antithetical to capitalism here in America.
This treaty destroys our nation's sovereignty for the sake of international rule. It is counter to all established, Constitutional rights and limitations concerning intellectual and property rights. And it is imperialism disguised as law. All in all, it's a BAD idea for America!
