Americans long for the day when they'll be able to find US-made goods, instead of only chinese junk. [and even if it costs more!]

This is an important article and very good news. It is mandatory that we as Americans manufacture tangible goods in order for our economy to survive. And yes...I would pay more for quality items built here rather than the throw-away junk that comes from China and ends up in our landfills.

While this is a nice trend, it is disturbing that currently there are 12 million jobs, in the service or industrial sector that should be considered as out-sourced over seas because they are being held by illegal immigrants. Calling them "undocumented workers" is like calling a crack dealer an "undocumented pharmacist". It is great the jobs are coming back here after several years' absence, but when are we going to start giving these job to those who have earn (either by virtue of citizenship or by visa) the right to work in this country rather than to people who "earn" this "right" by virtue of being able to run faster than the local boarder patrol agent?

Let's hope this is a rapidly expanding trend. I dread having to buy products Made in China - or anyplace but here in the good ole USA. Now if our government leaders would wake up and revise our tax policies to encourage businesses to make things right here - and to employ fellow American's. Instead, powerful foreign and corporate lobbyists have been very effective at influencing tax policies favorable to their business interests - interests that are not in our nation's interests. I've also been waiting for the Arabs to price China and others right out of our home markets. $ 6 a gallon gasoline - while in the short-term it will be painful - in long term, it will make us better, stronger, and independent. American workers can be the most productive workers in the world - they just need jobs to prove it - and not jobs at MacDonalds flipping burgers. Made in the USA!

A good news article for a change. I drive American cars and I will not knowingly buy anything made in China. You have to watch what you buy. Sometimes, "Made in China" is just a foil sticker which unscrupulous merchants will peel off. I always had the feeling that clothing from China was made by a four-year-old girl handcuffed to a sewing machine making 3 cents and hour.

Just wanted to share a Made in the USA company (small) that makes quality gear and has amazing customer service (imagine that in this day and age!): http://www.sfbags.com I wish I could buy US Made cars.... When and if I get rich, i will!
