Bravo, I agree for the most part and I pray that the American public are as intelligent as I think they are so that they may see through the smoke and mirrors being generated by Obama. Yours In Liberty

Kudos! From all we normally hear, it's hard to believe that any Hollywood actor has this much common sense!

Huzzah! I am thrilled a conservative from Hollywood. I too drank the koolaide of the 60's, the effects have worn off.

Bravissimo, John Voight! Only a man of real principle could have portrayed Pope John Paul II the Great as convincingly and accurately as you did! Everything you said about Obama and his Hard Left spear-carriers in your article was right on target, but I was most taken by your perceptiveness in citing the pernicious influence of the Hard Left on the raising and educating of America's youth. Loopy radical Bill Ayers said years ago that, his own actual bombs notwithstanding, the real key to mounting a socialist revolution in America was to get our kids to "kill their parents." Since the poisonous Sixties, precisely that has happened -- not physically, but in terms of parental authority and respect being murdered wholesale by our Hard Left dominated news and entertainment media, judiciary, universities and colleges, and most public school systems. This destructive process will only gain speed if the Lord Obama becomes president and staffs the federal judiciary and bureaucracy with the Hard Left loons with which he seems so comfortable. Again, thanks so much for speaking out against the impending Hard Left tyranny of an Obama Administration.

Bravo John. I'mn sure that the Hollywood Left will tear you apart, but be of stout heart. Your enemies are but pisants.

I'm not sure what it says about us that actors' opinions are given the weight and newsworthiness that they are. That said, it is a rare occasion when an entertainer says something truly worthy of our attention. Mr. Voight has just given us such an occasion in this well stated, heartfelt essay. Well done!!

An actor that is conservative?! UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Way to go! As a Mexican Jewish Female,I, too, was on the left for years. Now, I have come to realize what is at stake and how we need to keep our country strong and safe. Obama is dangerous to our country and speaking (or writing) this truth can be dangerous for the courageous Mr. Voight, given the world of entertainment he makes his living in. I honor and thank you for your staunch support of Israel, the US and the truth. May God bless and protect you,

Well done, sir. I heard Voight say once that speaking out on his conservative values was a way of atoning for starring in "Coming Home". I especially liked his dig at Weasley Clark.

BRAVO, BRAVO! Thanks so much for the courage to speak out. I hope it's encouraging other conservative entertainers, and also making some "liberal" entertainers re-think their positions in supporting Obama. If you can recover from the '60's, others can too. Continue to write articles and appear in person. Every little bit helps. Great admiration! (and you're a great actor, to boot)!

Bravo Jon, Wonderfully said. As Malibu resident, I am surrounded by limo, ankle biting, liberals who beleive that Obama is the next coming. (to me, it's like a scene out of the Omen 3.)It least, he's not a "flip flopper" because he takes boths sides of an issue (when he says anything of substance at all,) and the kool-aid drinkers become orgasmic. This is a hype that trumps anything that has ever come out of Hollywood. I do, however, beleive that the American voter will be smart enough to see through this thinly veiled con.

hahah, this is the dumbest commentary on the upcoming election i've read. Voight displays a profound ignorance of politics, and has nothing to add to the political discourse. Obama is not a socialist. Please don't be so stupid to believe that

ChuckKnerr

Mr. Voight is correct; don't be swayed by calculated sound bites, look at Obama's radical socialist friends. My mother always told me: "Show me your friends and I'll show you your future". Our country, our future deserves better.

For the best Jon Voight film ever watch "Runaway Train" (1985). An incredible metaphor for the world today!
