It's time Republicans get some religion on spending. As www.notwrightforamerica.com has pointed out, reckless spending supported by Republicans is hurting McCain's chances this fall.

Sen. Colburn and the Republicans are to be commended in an effort to save our exploding fiscal budget from the majority Democrats on Capitol Hill. At the same time, Democrats on Capitol Hill are punishing the American consumer. Democrats all across America are now doing advertisements comparing the cost of gasoline today versus the gasoline cost when the Republican incumbent and/or President Bush were elected. With gasoline prices, some businesses are being pressed to cut back on production as consumers are being forced to cut back on budgets; all because of gasoline prices. As businesses cut back due to gasoline prices, consumers too, are forced to delay and/or cancel purchases because of gasoline prices, and vise-versa. We must demand Democrats on Capitol Hill to authorize drilling of new oil to protect our family budgets, including our homes, our jobs, and new expanding jobs; all for our US economy. Save our family budget! Obama and the Reid/Pelosi team should be held liable for punishing the consumers.

Well if Democrats are doing adds comparing gasoline prices today versus when Bush was elected I hope Republicans play off of those adds and show one of their own with a graph of the price increases year by year. Then when we see the steep increase after 2006 we can ask why the handle of that "hockey stick" graph correlates with the election of a Democratic Congress. The Democratic Oil Embargo continues to take its toll on the economy and the reason for the embargo is plain to see as the Democrats try and pass bills to help the "neediest" pay for heating and cooling costs. We know this play book inside and out: Make them poor and then make them dependent on Democrats so Democrats can depend on their vote for the "help" Democrats have provided them.

Finally Republican acting like conservatives. Geez, was that so difficult to do? Either go back to your roots or face a disenchanted base that won't support you when election time comes. Now start drilling offshore & Alaska, deport ALL illegal aliens and make it impossible for them to live here, and control gov spending and you might regain the power that you once held and abused.
