EBELING: Case for lower taxes

It is very important that this message continues to get out the American people. However, you have to understand something very important: the Leftists in the government already know this, but they don't care. They want to keep and expand the current tax system, not because they think it gives them more money, but because they think it gives them more control. They would happily do with less money if they felt they could still have the control they want over people's lives. A simpler tax system may mean more money, but it means less control for them, so they will fight vigorously. We will never win the tax argument until we understand this fact.
