Frankly, I am glad the Democrats don't get it because it will cost them dearly in November. Their arrogance, particularly that wicked witch of the west (San Francisco) Pelosi is petrified of an up or down vote in the house because she knows it will pass. Her denial is almost as bad as Nobamas relative to the surge in Iraq. The sad part is that her seat is safe due to the loony left voters in sanctuary city and it's environs. However, she is putting some common sense Democratic congressman in real danger with their constituents. I hope they get some backbone soon. HELLO!
Good for the GOP. I wonder if Harry&Nancy realize BP is not an American oil company. High profits are not evidence at all that Republicans are "protecting the oil industry". It is evidence that the Democratic Oil Embargo is having exactly the effects the Democrats and evironmentists - very high prices.
The more Bush pushes drilling, the more prices react. It's not speculators, it is supply&demand, something Pelosi Democrats just don't seem to understand.
So as Carter and the Democratic Congress of the '70s flailed about when we last got hit with steep energy price increases so too does this Democratic Congress. We should all go to the various "town hall" meetings with Democratic legislators and show our dissatisfaction - if we can afford the gasoline to get us there.
The Republicans, over the last thirty years, have created policies that favor a de facto plutocracy. But the question they must ask themselves is how long can they keep "fooling some of the people all of the time"?!
If we truly want to solve these serious economic problems, polar thinking, and political dialectics designed to undermine the public's interest, must come to an end. Otherwise, we will continue to be "the frog in the slow boil!
