It would appear, to me, that there ARE as many Democrats AS Republicans being investigated. I wonder how THAT slipped your mind? Just to trivial? If YOU would ever go to Alaska, and get beyond Anchorage, you would see why that state needed those Senators and that member of the House. They have done more for this state, during their terms, than almost 200 years of U.S. rule ever did. This is minor garbage and was done, only for the headlines in an election year. If I am wrong, why is it that ALL this information was PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE two years ago and NOTHING was done? Smells ROTTEN to me! From the way this state has been SCREWED over, since statehood, it is a wonder we haven't voted to revert back to a territory. At least we would reap the benefits without having to pay the toll (reference is made to Puerto Rico, no FED TAXES) There are EIGHT paved highways in Alaska, not bad for a state the size of a quarter of the United States. It is easy to find fault, but EVERY state in this union has received more MONEY from the government than this one! (Try comparing the amount of money received by the size of the state sometime, and the needs!)! We've only been at the TROUGH since 1959, most of you have, AT LEAST, seventy-five years head start! Before you mention the oil and those checks, remember that Texas and Louisiana have just as much producing oil currently, including off-shore assets, and possibly more! Roughly Eighty-five percent of the Alaskan population is living on welfare or some other form of subsistance! Generally it's less than half what's available Outside (lower forty-eight to you!). Tell me that $1,200 goes a long way, I need a good laugh! Oh, by the way, those infamous bridges to nowhere you LOVE to talk about would've opened VAST areas of the state for development of minerals, businesses, recreation and housing. Alaska, if open properly, is a vast gold mine with deposits of virtually every mineral known to man, and would return to investors many times the development cost in potential profits. But what the hell, it's better to climb on the bandwagon than to find out the TRUTH, isn't it? So go on, stay in your comfortable houses, keep bashing what you don't know, I mean after all, it's the RIGHT thing to do isn't it, get your 15 minutes of fame. Oh, by the way, while at it please look into that pristine ANWR reserve you're so in love with. See those three or four piles of GARBAGE left there from the trip those environmentalists took. What was it, only fifteen years or so ago? Left for someone else to PICK UP! The American Creed: Do as I say, not as I do!

There is no dilemna. Senator "Bridge to Nowhere" is a disgrace even without this and should resign yesterday!

It's a matter of perceived moral relativity. Ted Kennedy, John Murtha, William Jefferson and Bill Clinton are still in. Larry Craig seems to be holding with the other Democrats. Packwood, Condit (Blue Dog Democrat), Delay and Gingrich are out. They tried with Henry Hyde but for some reason it didn't work. Duke Cunningham got caught. It may be the same for Stevens.
