OPINION: Trends in the youth vote

Gary Andres, you say "But if today's cohort of new partisans remains committed - and votes that way - they could provide an electoral boon to the Democrats for a generation." True, but only if Congressional Democrats meet their needs as they see fit. With all the promises the Democrates make, their in now why to pay for all of it. With the attitude of today’s Congressional Democrats partisan zero sum game, Democratic leaders are leaving themselves and their theories unchecked to be applied into the real world. We have already seen several countries in Europe suffer ecconomilly and can not pay for this liberal indulgance and as a result of this very thing. France, Germany, Norway and others have moved back to a more conserviative politica stance and those economies are going through with drawl pains. This US Democratic unchecked liberial runaway could case them to pull the rug out from under themselves on issues that tomorrow they create today, i.e., another terrorist attack, higher taxes, sluggish economy, foreign interests attacked over seas, affordable hosing, health care, more tax increases, one and on it gose. Who do these young voters think will be paying for all of this fuzzy feel good liberal lifestyle? When they find out the painful answer to that for themselves, things will change. I hope!
