Bill Gertz is my hero. His efforts to expose the evil regime of the communist chinese deserves a congressional medal of honor. I can just see how red-faced the komrads in Peking must get every time Mr. Gertz puts out one of his brilliant pieces. Keep up the good work & keep em' coming Mr. Gertz. The American public is not fooled by the current administration's coddling of china for economic reasons, and we are also not fooled about china's long term goals vis-à-vis the United States’ 'hegemony' as they like to brand our actions. Every American with half a brain knows that China is our long term strategic enemy, and short term economic enemy. This is evidenced by their governments' complicity in web based cyber attacks, economic attacks through piracy of our goods & services, financial attacks through currency manipulation and conterfeiting, and blatant, rampant espionage. Keep exposing china, and let's make sure we contain them for the future's sake. The chinese have no illusions about the upcoming apocalypse as the world struggles to feed, cloth, and house the massive, multitude of people as the world's resources diminish exponentially. They realize they may have missed the boat for their hoardes and are doubling their efforts to make up for their years of lazy indifference.

Great, Bill Clinton ,with his granting "most favored nation treaty" to this communist country, and sending most of the good paying middle class factory jobs to china, They have our factories and our money and we borrow it back with interest and now we are giving those people what they can reverse engineer. What they have not stolen or purchased, we will give them. America is undermined by it's own leaders!

Yet another example of the Bush Administration betraying the interests of the American people. If Bush were standing in front of me I would probably be arrested for spitting in his face.

Thank you Bill for another outstanding article!! China has been receiving our technology for many years from a variety of sources. Bill Clinton was very generous, and gave them our latest super-computers. He referred to China as our strategic partner. President Bush has expanded and continued these same failed policies that benefit China but not our own country. The wealth of our middle class has been transferred to China. Numerous US corporations have sold their technology to China without considering their human rights violations, and censored society. Nearly everything available to buy here is made in China, and they are the holders of most of our debt. They are a mercantilist country, and are lending us money to buy their goods. I hope many Americans decide to skip this Olympics, and also start boycotting Chinese made products. Kay in CA

See: China's Hot Stock: Orwell Inc. By Harold Meyerson Wednesday, September 19, 2007; A23 It's clear: China's top security officials, truly some of the most powerful people in the country, if not the world, establish companies in the US to develop super high tech security devices. They then share that technology with their own people and, of course, sell those devices back to their own government for very high prices. They know how to take care of themselves. The question is, why does the US let this happen? Follow the money.

White House officials and Senate Democrats met in private three times last week to craft health care legislation. Do you think these discussions should be more public?
