Out of curiousity what would Mr. Holland say if a K-12 history text stated that the roots of 20th century anti-semitism in Europe sprang from Christian teachings and were one of the underlying causes of the holocaust? In holocaust research this is a well established position and almost certainly correct. But doesn't it seem out of place for a K-12 text book? Clearly ther are appropriate historical truths for the age group being taught. Some concepts require an anyltic ability beyond the reasoning capicity of certain ages and are therefore inappropriate. What exactly would Mr. Holland like these text books to say that accuratly captures the distortions Islamic extremists have taken islam that said 9/11 was a-ok? Perhaps a similiar twisting of chistianity that fed violent anti-semitism in europe that allowed the holocaust? How would Mr. Holland like to fit that thesis into 1 paragraph for a 12 year old?
