Let's see. Nine years after the UN and NATO "occupied" Kosovo and assumed control, the Kosovars are trying to set up a government without UN approval and with limited powers. But that's ok because the US is only working "behind the scenes."
Three years after the US and Friends "occupied" Iraq (and after the UN bugged out because it was "too dangerous") they had a functioning government that now conducts its own military operations with open US assistance. The Iraqi's can "disinvite" us anytime they want and we've promised to leave if they do. But we have a dreadful "quagmire" in Iraq while we (and few others ) welcome Kosovo to the "family of nations." Go figure!
