Sounds right to me, and me one o' them damned yankees.
Pruden, you are a national treasure. i think of murray kempton, when i was in my 20s, as an original, and jmmy breslin at his best, and red smith (clay-liston: 'the biggest sporting event in maine since the trout')and how crisp newspaper writing used to be. it is mostly mush now, issuing from idiots.
useful idiots.
Three Cheers!
Mr. Pruden, as always your sermons are well received. Because of your writings Tuesdays and Fridays are a treat.
Great thoughts. Thanks. I hope they both find good VPs.
The more I learn about the Civil War, its causes and its consequences, the more I sympathize with the Confederacy. Of course, as Mr. Pruden points out, that makes me an apologist for slavery, and, obviously, a racist, too. How woeful to live in a country steeped in such utter ignorance. No wonder Obama is so popular. A shallow, ignorant electorate needs a shallow, ignorant candidate. Is there any hope for the greatest nation on Earth?
