U.S. considers Tehran office to issue visas

The Bush administration has lost it. They are desperate for a victory of some sort. For Rice to even mention opening an Embassy or Interest section in Tehran is ridiculous. She's also asking for around 9 billion dollars to shore up our Embassies around the world which is a worthy goal. However, rather than having 265 Embassies and Consulates we should close at least 100 of them. We have Embassies in countries where we have no influence or national interests at all. Insane.

I very much doubt that!!! I am an Iranian living in the US. My girlfriend got admitted to a University in Kansas. In order to obtain visa she had to travel to Dubai. Despite that and what Mrs. Rice says US consulate in Dubai denied her application, for she is too young and not enough experience of living abroad. That's happening when many students from other countries come over the United States to study, younger and even with no experience of living abroad. With that in mind, it's hard to believe what Mrs. Rice says.
