For those who don't know, Silvestre Reyes was a sorry, corrupt Border Patrol Chief before he was a sorry, corrupt US representative. Likely buddies with the slime who stole his relative. We ought to back-charge Calderon for the cash . . .

Those are my tax dollars that are being used for ransom for a Mexican citizen. This should be illegal and this man should be taken out of office.

As the late great governor of Maryland once said (Marvin Mandel) "Money talks, and bull**** walks". The powers invested in the Congress and the President are being abused on an ongoing basis irrespective of the wishes of the PEOPLE. How much longer will this go on?

Arrest Silvestre Reyes for stealing from American tax payers, and possibly violating laws against payment of ransoms. Silvestre is as crooked as the kidnappers. Lock up Silvestre.

Hasn't anybody seen "Toy Soldiers"? "It is the policy of this administration that we do not negotiate with terrorists." What happened?

So much for equal treatment under the law. UnConstitutional unlawful UNequal treatment under the law -- meaning better treatment for the Gummint elites compared to us peasants -- has a long disgusting history. It ranges from Teddy Kennedy getting away with murder (well, at least negligent homicide), Clinton crimes (treason in the transfer of secrets to the Chinese, using the IRS to spy and harrass US taxpayers, accepting foreign campaign contributions, etc. etc.), Defeatocrat operatives wire-tapping GOP Senators' cell-phone conversations, bribes to William Jefferson (D-LA), and the list goes on and on. If the article is accurate, at least it appears taxpayer $$ were not used in the ransom.

Silvester the cat was a cartoon, this Silvestre is a lapdog for Nancy Pelosi. I live in this clowns' district(and will be escaping soon) and I cringe everytime he opens his mouth. We have an ALL OUT DRUG WAR right across Mexico/U.S. border and most of the country rarely hears about it. The body count in Cd. Juarez is around 400 for the month,it's a miracle more American citizens haven't died so far. Silvester YOU BETTER write a check and PAY BACK the U.S. for this one!

Theft of government services. He should be expelled from Congress, and prosecuted.

ICE had no business helping Reyes. His family problems are his own. Just because he is a congressman gives him no right to complel assistance from ICE. Afterall we are talking about a pro-illegal immigrant, amnesy, open border's activist. This is setting a dangerous precedent for the future. REYES SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN NO HELP WHATSOEVER. It is his family, and his problem to solve.

This guy ........ Sivestre ............. is an open borders socialist and Democrat ........... a shill for LULAC and La Raza. If he got his way to open our borders to every illegal alien and Mexican Criminal Syndicate member ............ we would have a 100 kidnappings a week here in the United States. We already have too many Americans being kidnapped by the Mexican Criminal Syndicate .............. but .... the main stream media won't write about it. If Sivestre had his way ............ Texas would be like Jaurez. As of now ............. only El Paso and a handful of border towns ......... are similar to the crime that is occuring across the border in Juarez.

He can't reimburse the government for the services rendered, because they were not something the agency was lawfully allowed to do. What he did is use government employees to conduct personal business. This case is exactly like one where an elected official gets state employees to work on his house. It's criminal theft, and he should go to jail.

Waitaminute. United States taxpayers just paid a freaking RANSOM for a MEXICAN NATIONAL??? It's time for an armed revolution, people.

This is not the first time Reyes has used his position to aid a family member. A few years ago the committee he sits on approved a multi-million dollar software contract to help secure the border. After spending millions, the project was a complete failure. It turns out that the daughter of Reyes was associated with the company which received the contract.

This man negoitated wiht terrorists for a "relative of the wife" for hispanics that is the cousin of the cousin on the cousins side. This man is no better than Mexican National Politicians.

I totally agree with MAGNESUM that Reyes should be arrested for stealing from American TAXPAYERS and violating U.S. laws about paying ransoms. Ransoms are not even paid for OUR MILITARY! It's time to VOTE REYES OUT! U.S. TAXPAYERS should NOT be bailing him and his Mexican relatives out! Maybe next time, they'll come for "HIM", and GOOD RIDDANCE to him and his pro-anmesty bunch, who have leeched off TAXPAYERS MUCH TOO LONG! I intend to VOTE OUT ALL THE INCUMBENTS in the House and Senate (both parties) in Nov. The whole bunch of them are CORRUPT. There's no leadership and they've done nothing to embrace alternative energy since the oil crisis in 1972. They give our TAX dollars to Israel and the Arabs to fight each other rather than taking care of things at home. IS THIS WHAT WE WANT? If you are against amnesty, www.ALIPAC.org is working state-by-state to stop it.
