The commentary was very good. Senator Hutchison has all the right facts. Thank god we have people in America like her.
However in America it is shamfull we have manny people who would give up the right to potect themself an thier familey. The crimales an terrorist love to pray on the weak and all to often the authorities get ther after the crime is committed.
Fortunately for all of us, the Framers were a bunch of very smart men, and there are still people who honor their intent and wisdom. Deaths by firearms for ages 15-19 increased between 1991 - 1998. The assault weapon ban became law under Clinton in 1994, and apparently had no effect on deaths by firearms in this age group, in fact they stayed in an up trend through 1998, before going down. This parallels the effect of the DC gun ban. Things got worse! Concurrently, liberalism progressed more rapidly into feel-good-socialism and American culture became more permissive, the effect of societal taboos were diminished more than even the 60's, and "popular music" and videos progressed into soft porn. Is there a greater correlation between an increase in the socialist-nanny-state-world-view and criminal behavior than there is between criminal behavior and the number of citizens who legally own guns?
