Feingold is no friend of Americans. The victims of the next attack on the US won't be able to make Feingold pay for his stupidity. The data on the laptops is not private when they try to board the plane.
The privacy expected in their home or office does not apply on a sensitive conveyance like an aircraft or when they try to cross a border.
It is simple minded to think that a border crosser is an innocent traveler who is not a potential threat.
