SEEN AND HEARD IN LAKE BUENA VISTA, FLA.

NATIONALS 2, BRAVES 2 (11)

John Patterson allowed three hits in three shutout innings at Champion Stadium in Disney’s Wide World of Sports complex.

Joel Hanrahan relieved Patterson and used a fastball that topped out at 98 mph to strike out eight in three innings, including the side in both the fifth and sixth innings. General manager Jim Bowden said earlier in the day the Nationals could start the season with four starters and seven relievers. If that’s the case, Hanrahan made a strong argument he should be among those seven.

The Braves had a chance to win the game in the 10th, but Ryan Langerhans threw out Jordan Schafer at home on Scott Thorman’s double.
