Obviously, some women are raised without mothers (I work next to one) and they "do just fine" or even better than "just fine". Does that prove that mothers are unnecessary to raising daughters? Hardly. But aside from this illogic that someone like Lance Armstrong supports the father-bashing elements of our society, something else is at work here - America's tendency to treat "success" as the only worthwile attribute of a man, the only measurement worth using. How sad. Look into the character of some fatherless or nearly fatherless men, who while succussful, have been an embarrassment to our country in terms of their integrity and personal judgement. You will soon recognize that having a father as a guiding part of ones life supports far more important qualities than mere "success".
