As usual, Fein is the master of the cheap shot "... in quixotic adventures to transform incorrigibly tribal or feudal societies into friendly secular democracies." Just once he should consider that those "incorrigibly tribal or feudal societies" are getting lots of money and modern weapons such as missiles and nuclear bombs, and they hate modern society, while expressing a ready willingness to use those weapons against the "moderns" i.e. us.

Let me sum up for you. Unless someone agrees with all of your political views, they are, in your mind, mediocre. This includes former editors of Harvard Law Review.

Fein Writes: "The best of America's egalitarian culture has permitted Mr. Obama and Mrs. Palin to rise to political heights. The worst is permitting them and politicians of their sub-optimal caliber to drive the Republic over a cliff." While I entirely agree that Sarah Palin perfectly represents what Mencken called the elevation of "a complete moron" to the highest office, anyone who sees Sarah Palin and Barack Obama as equally representative of this trend should be wondering the same about himself. Highly regarded constitutional scholar versus Wassila mayor and former TV personality.... those are equally emblematic of how we choose unqualified know-nothings for the highest office? A celebrated editor of the Harvard Law Review is the same, in Fein's mind, as a beauty queen with virtually no exposure to constitutional law whatsoever? I think perhaps what we should demand more qualifications for is writing opinion pieces in national journals. The vapidity displayed here by Fein is simply astonishing.

Since it does not appear that anyone on the political scene is acceptable to Mr. Fein, perhaps we should suggest that he should run for office. At that time it might be in our interest to post an article describing our opinion of his own weaknesses and frailties.

Mr. Pilgrim and cjd2101: Yes, the Communist Organizer is average at best. His SAT scores were abysmal, and his record shows no greatness, conviction, or exceptional thought or stance. Since he is so ashamed of his university records that he will not release them, I am forced to conclude that his performance and intellect there shined as brightly as his SAT scores and voting record suggest. I think Mr. Fein is a self-important prig. I also believe that character trumps intellect every time. In that regard, Sarah Palin is a giant when compared to either Obama or Mr. Fein.

While B. Hussein Obama may have studied the Constitution, he clearly holds it in as much disdain as Bush. Put aside your jerseys and look at how your liberties are being eroding by both sides of the political isle. First Bush taps your phone then Obama seizes your income. When you find yourself as a serf you do you turn to?

I do not feel compelled the inflict any more pain on McCain or Palin that has been by both parties since the beginning. You can't beat both parties, it just doesn't work that way. Obama had all of the money in the world, his party, and ours doing their job. Duh!!
