The Republicans problem is they focus on the details and not the huge flaws with the basic concept. For Obama and the San Fran socialist crowd, their basic belief it that they have the right to put their hand into ANYONE's pocket, take ANY amount of money they desire, and then give it to ANYONE THEY choose. So just wait folks -- once the "over $250K" crowd shields their income, the definition of "rich" will go down drastically, and the poor suckers making $50K who voted for "change" are going to get soaked because -- unlike the wealthy -- they have no way to shield their income.
That was the message the Republicans should have incessantly pounded home during the campaign -- so now we're ALL going to lose...misery loves company, I suppose.
That Obama could convince Americans that only those over $250k/year when all the other Democratic Party spokespeople were speaking the truth (Top 5% = $120k/year) is a testament to how the reporters in most venues didn't report, just parroted what Mr. Obama put forth. It's not difficult to find many reports on what the different levels of income range by percentage of the population. In looking over the county by county breakdown, the folks who need a higher income, living in metropolitan areas, will now have the tax increase squeezing them from above. I for one may ask for a salary reduction with an increase in other benefits to minimize my tax burden.
