naturalborn

Let's see his birth certificate.

naturalborn

Let's see his birth certificate! He is not a natural born citizen until he provides his birth certificate, therefore, he should not be president. Protect our Constitution!

Um, OK. Here is an image of it right here: http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn227/Polarik/BO_Birth_Certificate.jpg

Voters are not going to feel better until the government stops spending as much money. It actually isn't reassuring to see both sides of the aisle jumping up to spend more and more to fix an economy that needs them to spend less. I guess we really can't expect government to see that they need to spend less to reassure us though, their way has always been spend, spend, spend, for any issue.

tfvdw2at, that is a certification of live birth, not a birth certificate. They are two different things and certify two different things. Indeed a certification of live birth was(is?) usually used to certify live birth of a child in a foreign nation.

"A rose by any other name would".. still be socialism. So let's "enact 'a massive government stimulus package on the order of $300 billion to $500 billion ... to jolt the economy out of its coma.'" The people were dumb enough to elect an inexperienced, unproven, silver-tongued liberal. I'm sure they're dumb enough not to recognize that every billion thrown their way by a benevolent government will ultimately be taken from them many times over. Sounds like John Maynard Keynes is alive and well. God help us when "the chickens come home to roost."

"Mr. Obama's election as 'the most seminal shift in political philosophy since the New Deal. ... [T]he consequences of escalating government involvement in the economy, as prescribed by Mr. Obama and his supporters, could be disastrous." It looks like we had better tighten our belts, the ride is going to be rough. Democrats never saw a government in which they didn't think "escalating government involvement" was not necessary. O-man has promised a Socialist form of government involvement and Demos plan to give it to him.

CMPark

itwin is right. tfvdw2at has linked to a certificate of live birth which the Dems have been passing off to their ignorant constituency as O-man's real birth certificate during the past few months. Hawaiian birth certificates in the early sixties looked much different than that and contained more detailed information. If O-man were truly a natural born citizen, he would have a real birth certificate.

The New New Deal is a socialist regulated market economy. We are in the transition stages. The tax payers aren't quite indentured enough with the bailout, so they will dig the hole deeper with another stimulus package and nationalizing the auto industry. Obama is already looking at some of the control they lost during the $4.00 a gallon crisis by reviewing executive orders on drilling. Government is now the corporation and the President and the Congress will become the CEO and board of directors. Europe will have a bigger say in U.S. financial policies. They already had control of Social Security and Medicare, now they have the economy. Medicare is evolving to national healthcare and try to get social security without taking national healthcare. Vote against them and lose it all, job, benefits and healthcare. A couple of historic firsts: the first African American President and the first administration under socialism.

Keep your hand on your wallet and watch out when Obama wants to get his hands on it. He will get cash right out of it for himself and his buds--the unions, Rezko, Ayers, and other crooks. Obama is worse than Nixon, his idol. Obama is a first-class liar and con-man. America will need a revolution to get back to what it is once was, but got dismantled under B.O.

Look at Obama in this picture. He looks young, confused, and overwhelmed. Sad. He is just a front for left-wing interests and is totally manipulated. It will not be long before he breaks down and is replaced. Sad, sad, sad....

Our economic woes could be resolved by a little magic pill called "self control". If government stopped borrowing and spending more than it earned, it would be magic. Avoiding such bitter medicine, we dream that Obama can produce results by means of other tricks.

I fully expect that our financial woes have already come to an end because of the election. I have believed all along that most of the problems were contrived by the press to get rid of the Bush administration. To my way of thinking there are two types of people who today have economic problems. The first being people who have used their positions as CEO's to draw unrealistic salaries which have crushed their companies and often their investors. Most of them went away with millions in their pockets. The second group being those people who were given mortgages which they could not pay back. Those policies were a product of the former administration and its bent toward socialism. Most people like me, who have lived within their means and done their jobs well are all doing fine in today's economy. I also would like to comment that I have lived for the past sixteen years in the former Soviet Union. I have seen first hand how socialism and government control can destroy a society. As a democrat I have wished that my party would come to visit me and see that for themselves. The very small man that it pretends to protect is always the man who loses everything, including his personal identity and personal pride. It will take generations for that damage to be reversed. I have found in my own life that if the government keeps its nose out of my business I can well take care of myself.

Energy Independence needs to be included in the realm of our serious economic issues. Our dependence on foreign oil impacts every aspect of our society and economy We have so much available in the way of FREE energy, solar and wind that can be utilized to replace oil. Hybrid and electric plug in cars would replace another huge percentage of our dependence on foreign oil. We spent 168 BILLION on a stimulus pkg that did nothing for our economy. Now there is talk of another stimulus pkg. Why not invest in initiating alternative energy sources and making hybrid and plug in car technology. It cost the equivalent of 60 cents a gal of gas to drive an elec car. Investing in renewable sources of energy would create millions of badly needed jobs. It is a win-win situation. We have the knowledge and the technology, what we seem to lack as a nation is a PLAN. Jeff Wilson has a great new book out called The Manhattan Project of 2009 Energy Independence NOW. I highly recommend this book.

In December 1933,the economist John Maynard Keynes wrote an open letter to President Roosevelt, which began: "You have made yourself the trustee of those in every country who seek to mend the evils of our condition by reasoned experiment within the framework of the existing social system. If you fail, rational change will be gravely prejudiced throughout the world, leaving orthodoxy and revolution to fight it out." (quoted from Donald Markwell,"John Maynard Keynes and International Relations: Economic Paths to War and Peace", Oxford University Press, 2006, page 176) Although the circumstances are different, exactly 75 years later President-elect Obama is in something like the same position. People around the world see him as the trustee of their hopes, both for better international relations and for revival of the world economy. As in FDR's time, when Depression led remorselessly to war, so today, the two may be more closely connected than we would like to think. President Obama must ensure that the US provides leadership in dealing with the global economic crisis of our day. This, too, is one of the lessons - probably not widely enough appreciated - of FDR's time, and of Keynes's insights (see Markwell's book quoted above).
