"“We are currently retooling the Web site,” said Obama spokesman Nick Shapiro." How about that? I did not expect anything else. The mystical, magical, but most of all mythical Obama is taking the first step to revealing himself an empty suit full of bull and assertions of change, which amounts to more of the same. The biggest difference is that he will not have a hostile opposition nor a hostile press. Duped America lets get on with becoming a third world nation in favor of making so-called friends around the world. It is so lonely being the temporary leader of the only superpower whose superpower status is not appreciated.

No surprise here. His always vague agenda will just be added to the long list of what we don't know about President-Elect Obama. But hey, he is a likable guy who preaches change....that's all we really need to know, right?

okie

Is this a William Ayres moment or what?

"end the war in Iraq responsibly and finish our mission in Afghanistan" So, there's a "war" in Iraq, but Afghanistan is just a "mission?" Nice Newspeak there, Obama.

He might consider retooling the immigration information. When the 12 million illegal aliens bring in their relatives, and chain migration cranks up, there will be 50, 60, or 70 million new people that will be eligible for free health care and redistribution checks. Furthermore, we will have to build 44 new nuclear power plants or 44,000 new turbines to supply electricity for them. Goodbye America.

I spent a bit of time reading the stuff on this web site over the last several days, and I am not surprised that they have taken it off line. The more I read, the more nervous I got. Obama's program reads like Mein Kampf. Someone must have told our new Adolf he would be better off soft-pedaling things until he assumed power.

I hope that someone, somewhere, copied every last page of Obama's site, and will put it up elsewhere so that we can see how quickly and thoroughly the promises he made are discarded, and how Obama's team spins what they have said in the past. If there are copyright problems with this, a responsible amateur journalist could merely do a 2-column presentation: what they used to say, and what they say now. It would be invaluable for future historians and for the 2012 campaign.

I am not surprised that the promises made to gain the confidence of the American populace have disappeared. Most of those who voted for Obama bought into the messianic hype. Another victory for symbolism over substance and now we will all pay the price.

no worries - on google type in "way back machine" - it is a continuous archive of the web - it will have the original website in its achives.

Politicians are the professionals and the voters are the amateurs

Not surprising. The campaign is over and now he can remove the excess propaganda and get down to his real agenda--which may not be advertised on his website.

What was important before the election has changed. Now it is important to buy votes for 2012.

Cannot move too far left as he cannot afford the costs so must move closer to the center which will make many of his far left supporters and those seeking their entitlements, unhappy. As if this was any surprise. Do and say anything to get elected then compromise and adjust your positions.

Are any of you who voted for Barack Obama suffering buyer's remorse? Many more "surprises" in store for you. Keep your eye out.

That last paragraph about American service is misleading. As of 11/7, the page on America Serves on change.gov originally stated that community service would be REQUIRED. The National Review Corner blog and hotair.com picked up on this. By the evening of 11/7, the paragraph was changed to a "call for service." Apparently Obama realized that he can't sneak through an agenda of mandated civilian service, however much the liberals, ga-ga over the One, would allow him to.
