Why is no one talking about the reason Detroit isn't competitive? United Auto Workers and other Detroit leeching unions are the reason with their insanely impractical employee demands (go ahead and look into how much Detroit is spending each year on plush Pension requirements for run of the mill blue collar workers). Why doesnt the UAW bail out the auto industry? And in case you were wondering why the Democrats aren't trying to make sure the money is spent correctly its because they really don't care about getting the money back. They just want to make sure that those 4.2 million union affiliated jobs stick around to vote for them in two years.

Can you tell me what bills or laws have conservatives passed that helped average folk? Let's take the last 30 years. Reagan, Bush tax cuts? My taxes decreased maybe 100.00 the rich folk a whole lot more, that is why we have the huge national debt.

It depends on HOW a bailout is structured. BAILOUTS ARE COMPLEX BEASTS, but one should be implemented to save the U.S. Auto Industry. Try something outside the box like this - http://pacificgatepost.blogspot.com/2008/11/solution-for-detroit-gm-friends.html Toyota and Honda also depend on the same suppliers who feed GM and FORD. No need to let Detroit disappear.

The Big Three auto makers, the United Auto Workers union and officials from Michigan and other Midwestern states have lobbied for additional federal aid and say tying too many strings to the money could undermine the rescue effort. Sure hope that it does undermine the effort. They need Chapter 11 to reorganize so they can compete. Right now the additional money is to payoff the unions. I say no way should we do it until the big three get their act together. We have been complaining for years that these sweetheart contracts were going to kill the US auto industry. The next thing the big three want is Universal Health Care so the can have the taxpayers pick up their Health Care Obligations. The Liberals are beholden to the big unions and we are going to get stuck with this bailout also. God help us! Oh I forgot. The Messiah has arrived and will save us. Boy do I feel better now. All will be well!

I'm glad someone is standing up while they still have a say so. The elitist illuminati are just throwing money away, and it's at the taxpayers expense.
