I think we best be getting on with the promise of making America energy independent.Iran just asked OPEC to reduce production by yet another 1.5 million barrels per day. This past year and the record gas prices played a huge part in our economic meltdown and seriously damaged our society. We keep planning to spend BILLIONS on bailouts and stimulus plans.Bail us out of our dependence on foreign oil. Make electric plug in car technology more affordable. It cost the equivalent of 60 cents a gallon to drive an electric plug in car. The electric could be generated from wind or solar. Get with it! Utilize free sources such as wind and solar. Stop throwing away money on things that don't work. Invest in America and it's energy independence. Create cheap clean energy, create millions of badly needed green collar jobs. Put America back to work. It is a win-win situation. We have to become more poractive citizens, educate ourselves and demand our elected officials move this country forward into the era of energy independence. Jeff Wilson's new book The Manhattan Project of 2009 Energy Independence NOW outlines a plan for America to wean itself off oil. We need a plan and we need it now! www.themanhattanprojectof2009.com
Obama feels that wealth can be created through government redistribution. Good luck on the economic recovery. With regard to energy independence, we will just have to wait for the "transition" where the technology, the infrastructure and the maintenance eventually evolve to a point where we are no longer dependent on carbon energy and can meet current and forecast energy demands. It only took about 100 years of cultural, business and economic progress to build the energy system we have today. Another 100 shouldn't matter.
If the majority of America is looking for and expecting assistance in getting this economy back on track and seeing job growth coupled with liveable wages, they won't find it in John Boehner.
Boehner has no interest in helping any Democrat or in seeing any legistation passed that entitles the middle or poor class in America. The Boehners of the Republican party have shown over the past eight years, they no longer care about serving America, only having power over it.
Boehner believes Obama is sincere? Sorry, but I don't. Too much illuminati smoke for there not to be a fire somewhere. I am wondering if we are going to be served a bottomless pit of politico-speak.
"The time for endless and aimless Washington spending has passed." John Boehner House Republican. His comments are classic double speak.
No wonder why the GOP is on the decline. Had there been real government oversight on the investment bankers ( speculators ) would it have been money well spent ? In hindsight, it would have been the right thing to do. Just who is being " insincere " about government spending ? Had more money been spent on WMD investigations and inspections would that have been money well spent ? In hindsight, it would have been the right thing to do. We have aimless and endless spending as the result of GOP conservative policies. Let's be real, spending is the right thing to do. But, not the aimless and endless GOP way.
