Don't underestimate the ability of the dollar coins to be spent as real money. I've deposited half of my first shipment of $500 in coin back into the bank, but the other half I have been spending all over the country. I've not once received a strange look or a question about the coins; folks know that they are legit and are happy to accept them. After all, that's the whole point of this program from the mint - to get the money into circulation.
