"If Pyongyang thinks that the next administration is going to give them an 'easier ride,' I think they are making a mistake," Mr. Revere said. "During the North Korean delegation's recent visit to New York, many people made precisely this point to them." This is emensely funny. Obama's administration is the Clinton administration and Kim Jong-il had it "best" last century during the 90s. Got the most and gave nothing while it forged ahead developing rockets and nuclear warheads so it is only natural that the north would delay to get more from the next administration.
Bush had the right idea with the Axis of Evil, but follow up lacked virility and fantailed into collective bargaining because of U.S. domestic politics lack of will to confront the North. The only true and valid actions the administration took brought results. Shortly after Japan stopped cash flow to the north by intensfying inspecting the North Korean fairy betwix NK and Japan (Known for decades as a main source of cash influx to NK), Bush froze NK's Macao accounts. Shortly after NK grew a bit more cooperative.
History shows NK cannot be trusted so what is all this about? It is about the NK experts in the State and Def Departments either not qualified or sustaining their positions. North Korea is in fact very predictable. Kim Jong-il knows South Korea and the U.S. have no stomach for another Korean War at this point in time. Obama try to confront NK militarily? Thinkable? While North Korea's military is outdated, South Korea's is not that much better. The main factor is fanactic combat that North Korean's are programed to wage and South Koreans are not.
Both Iraq and North Korea had been defined by Mr. Bush as members of the "axis of evil,"
In the picture above, 'U.S. President George W. Bush and Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Maliki'
Is Maliki axis of evil? Do we trust him? If we trust him but he can not exercise justice in front of his people, he will have no credibility in front his people in the future.
It is a very delicate matter. It needs balance; need to protect our interests without killing the transitional process.
