Mr. Parisi owes Senator McCain an apology and readers of the Washington Times a retraction. The lesson here is when a President represnts a political party that launches 111 hostile investigations into the previous administration on matters as globally important as the price of a haircut, don't look for any favors.
I voted for John McCain and would do it again. Unfortunately, this election turned on the "anybody but Bush and his Neo-Con ilk" platform.
The Republican Party, lost this election because its Administration Representatives and Senators couldn't have done any worse if they tried.
And now John McCain is supposed to apologize for not being able to overcome their miserable performance. That's rich.
The none-of-the-above vote is again vindicated. Similar to the demos and repugnicrats playing good cop, bad cop, the two parties and their leaders blame each other for wagging the dog. Some body's principal better get some principle. Eat a clue-by-4 or have it rammed home.
Fine. Buzz off.
Prepare to be assimilated by the BOG. Resistance to Obamination is futile. BOG Brother is watching.
Sure, Sen McCain's campaign was flying against a stiff headwind. The Bush II-Administration seemed to have a knack for turning every bad event of Term Deux into Hurricane Katrina -- and every day of every bad event into Groundhog Day. It was just one gunshot into the foot after another. (Harriet Meirs, anyone?) OK, the Bush Administration could be counted on to do the right thing (John Roberts at SCOTUS, Gen Petraeus in Iraq), after all the other bad things had been tried.
Still, Sen McCain could have done better than his amateurish "suspend the campaign" stunt during the market disaster. Really, were we going to suspend the election too? No? Then keep doing your job and campaign.
And let's not forget the utter lack of coherence that McCain offered the country about the future of the economy. Just platitudes, really. Next to McCain's mish-mash of economic mumbo-jumbo, Herr Obama looked like Adam Smith.
I am a conservative who had the honor and pleasure of voting for Reagan, and almost got a chance to vote for Goldwater except a couple of years shy.
I voted for Obama this month. Not that I agree with any of his policies. But I would have voted for a potted plant instead of the Republican party, which has become the party of Big Government Socialism, Big Deficits, Big Brother, and Big Bigotry.
Don't fault McCain, he is only the messenger of a flawed broken party. The Republicans should give a concession speech to America and to our hallowed Constitution.
