Is it just me or does there seem like some conflict of interest going on? And didn't the liberal illuminati deny any connection to fannie mae during the election. it just seems weird now that the election is over that Obama's people are trying to help them.

"Exclusive," huh? This is total BS! Information about the nefarious people the President Elect surrounded himself with, his collectivist philosophy, the criminal elements in Chicago, and the corruption of the Chicago Machine which produced him has been written about in the "New Media" for years. You NOW claim "an exclusive!!!" How outrageous! Let's see, the collective news reporting elite do everything in their power to get this empty suit elected, including obscuring the truth, and you're going after him NOW??? Rupert Murdoch is Right! You have destroyed your credibility with your readers.

Hey Washington Times, please. Americans are numb to corruption and like Harvey below exclaims: "Exclusive!"? Today in America, it is pure "hope" driving the train. You ask hope for what? Well, each person defines their own hope. That is all there is as we march down and down the road to third world nation status. So, questionable relationships, blatent corruption, un-American behavior and all sorts of sordid shenanigans (primarily deceit and trickery) are the norm, especially among democrats. When it comes to republicans, as soon as it is discovered, it is "recognized" and the culprit immediately resigns or is prosecuted and goes to jail; not the same for democrats. The great Congressman Jefferson, democrat from Louisiana is still free as a bird and then there is Dodd, Frank and on and on. Still, I must commend you, Washington Times, for creativity in trying to get Americans to perceive what is going on before their eye, although it is a lost cause, as Harvery below points out. 40% of all voters for Obama have no idea what Obama is all about. We have to fall down flat in order to get up and recover. Meanwhile, nations throughout the world will, in fact, grow to "love" America (this is a clear objective of Obama's administration) as they continue to surpass us in excellence, a value long in the process of disappearing here.

I feel bad for people like Clarence, who when most people in this country are hopeful after 8 years of the most unpopular president of all time, can only be cynical, hyper-partisan, and simple-minded. Let's set the record - an overwhelming majority of your fellow Americans voted for this man. It wasn't even close. So rather than implicitly challenging the decision of most of the country, why don't you focus your attention on areas that help America excel, rather than complaining. Let me remind you of one last thing - don't underestimate a country that is hopeful. While hope is intangible and easy to mock, it can result in very tangible results that WILL help America excel ... particularly for Americans who haven't been very motivated by the "leadership" under our former President.

And to think Obama is worried about Bill Clinton muddying his good name if Hillary becomes Sec State... BTW his new Chief of Staff also has previous connections to Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. Clinton gets foreign donations to make a library... Obama takes illegal foreign campaign contributions. Talk about a double standard. I am also confused about this "change" thing... Obama's new team is starting to look more and more like B. Clinton's previous team. Hmmm...

The fact that this is printed now is first of all an outrage since someone sat on this information FULLY KNOWING IF REVEALED DURING THE CAMPAIGNN IT WOULD DO GRAVE DAMAGE TO THE OBOT CAMPAIGN! To release it now only adds to the outrage by the Republicans who tried in vain to reveal the damage the Democrats were doing as they sat and and defended with great words of encouragement for the Fannie and Freddie Programs while both of these Democrat invented organizations were fleecing the American public and her treasury WHICH WE ALL NOW REALIZE BEGAN THE DOMINO EFFECT WE HAVE WATCHER BEFORE OUR EYES HAPPENING TO THE US ECONOMIC DOWN TURN! This man should be brought up on charges firstly, but we all know the whole OBAMA NETWORK IS COVERED BY TEFLON AND NO WILL WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE--that's what happens when you elect CROOKS! WE ALL KNOW IF YOU DID YOUR RESEARCH, THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION WILL BE CROOKED AND WILL FLEECE THE AMERICAN PUBLIC! Sadly it has all ready begun and we are helpless to do anything now!

A few comments: Why have people on the transition team who work on positions to be filled when they are "experts" in other fields? When is someone going to jail for fraud and criminal actions re Fannie Mae? Reports that are wrong, management get millions while these reports show failure. Contributions to politicians who have oversight of Fannie. A whole economy hit caused by this. Congressmen putting pressure on committees to cover up the trouble, thereby increasing the failed aftermath. Outright lying by everyone involved. My pocket being picked to pay for this? I don't care who is President, he needs to put people in jail, not on transition teams! Appearance of impropriety is not a consideration with a scenario like this. Outright robbery and corruption and a whole nation suffers. Disgusting As for Boston, keep your head in the sand and continue dancing with fairies. Bush had to contend with 8 years of whining and lies and vitriol. Obama has the opportunity here to give Americans real hope, and not hype, by going after those who deserve it no matter who they are and seeing that they taste justice due. That would uplift the American people and inspire them that the government and the cheats and frauds are accountable for wrongdoing and the future doesn't just hold more of the same. I would vote for him if he did the right thing...and he has the opportunity now!

So far, Obama's new governing appointments (Cabinet, etc )seems to be a basic copy cat of the Clintons. This doesn't sound like a whole lot of change to me. Same ol Same, just a different party looking out for themselves. If Obama wants to show the American people, that our government's priority is its people, then why doesn't he create a Bi-Partisan team, made up of 50% Democrats & 50% Republicans & Independents. No one would have the "other side" excuse for not getting things done in Washington. Until this is done, the child like behavior of our elected officials (from each party) will continue. It amazes me that the elected officials put into office by the great citizens of our country still don't get it.

We cannot be any more simple minded than being hopeful with no idea of what that hope is, thank you. I agree with most of the posts here today. As long as government officials are not photographed being arrested and marched off to jail to await trial, tried and if found guilty put in prison, ordinary Americans will have no faith in government. 40% of Obama voters no not why he is their president, aside from blind hope. As for joining in with the Obama mania, I refuse and am prepared to assault him on every issue that is bad for our country whose people are conservative at heart but duped by an ultra liberal media bent on the expulsion of God. It is still my right to disagree with whomever I want.

Donilon, Raines, Johnson, Gorelick, Dodd, Frank, Obama and the Democrats in general owe us a cool $700 billion for their starring role in The Fannie and Freddie Fiasco. Actually if we include the $200 billion bailout of Fannie and Freddie last March when the foundation of the Democrats socialized housing house of cards imploded, it is more like $900 billion. Oh, wait, AIG was sitting at the top of the house insuring all the paper Fannie and Freddie sold to Wall Street. So I guess we have to add what, another $150-$200 billion for the AIG baliout (and still counting.) Who could have known that this socialized housing experiment could have failed beyond anyone's wildest dreams? Wait, that would be Alan Greenspan, John McCain and even President Bush. How sorry we should be for not listening to Greenspan when in testimony he told us Fannie and Freddie were putting our entire financial system in peril. Too bad we didn't listen to John McCain in his floor speech on Senate Bill 190 when he said the same thing. Too bad we didn't listen to President Bush when he asked Congress to pass regulation reforms aimed at curbing Fannie and Freddie's foray into sub-prime loans. Nope. We had to listen to Raines and Johnson at the hearings for the regulation legislation as they claimed it was all hogwash. We had to listen to Barney Frank who rejected all the regulation proposals while declaring he was "willing to roll the dice on sub-prime loans". Well America, our chickens have come home to roost. But these chickens are not stamped "FDA Grade-A". They are stamped "DEMOCRAT".

Realist - It's not the elected officials who don't get it; it's the people who voted for them. Everyone was so taken in by Obama's eloquence and use of the words "change" and "hope" that they never did any real research into the man and what he really stood for. (I really thought people who see the truth about him and his agenda when that 2001 interview surfaced.) And with the press not doing their job either, no wonder he got elected. This is not unexpected. I have always said he was going to be a "bait & switch" president. He offered one thing when selling himself, but then is delivering a different product.

This is an example of the hypocrisy of the media and their goal to get Obama elected. Someone posted that this was known for months. But, all we ever heard in the press and from Obama's surrogates was the fact that someone on McCain's campaign had worked as a lobbyist, even though there is no evidence that he had exerted any influence on McCain to benefit Fannie or anyone else. If the press had done their job, they would have questioned the Obama campaign about the connection to Obama of someone who appears to have had much more influence on Obama, since Obama did not author a single bill. During the campaign after Obama said he did raise the issue, I researched and found that all he did was write a letter to Paulson asking for an investigation, and that the letter was written two months after announcing his candidacy in early 2007. It was done for political expediency, like everything he has done. He could say he took action, knowing that his action was so superficial it would never have any impact on his big donor, Fannie, and the money from them would not dry up. There was a good article about Obama in the Washington Post, I think, and his rise to where he is. It has been a very carefully crafted journey, and everything he has done was towards that end. My view of the man is that he has a social agenda as spelled out in that 2001 interview, which he could not accomplish as a state senator. Now he has the presidency and will use the judiciary and legislature to effectuate his social agenda. If you think the CRA and Fannie Mae were used to effectuate social engineering (which, I might add, ended up failing and causing an economic collapse), well, get used to it because you are going to see a lot of things done to effectuate social change. My view is everyone Obama appoints and everything he does in terms of taxes, programs, etc., will be geared towards his social agenda. National security will be secondary, and even that will be subject to his social agenda (e.g., pursuing the Jamie Gorelick view that terrorists should be treated like regular criminals). This is why the Ayres and Wright connections were so important: they held the same views as Obama. Maybe not to the same extreme, but this guy has hung out with socialists and others with radical views all his life. Yet you had a majority of the country - many of whom were moderates and maybe even conservatives - vote for a man who they are going to find out does not hold the same view of "hope" and "change" as they do.

The left-wing illuminati were overseeing Fannie and Freddie, so does this mean they knew about the lobbyist?
