O brother here we go again, Real Change seems to be heading our way, a bunch of recycled Clinton Administration cronies. First W brings back his fathers and Reagans cabinet and now the Change we voted for is notheing but Clintons cabinet and near do wells like Daschele and Ramsted. At leaset Linda Darling-Hammond doesn't appear to have been a Washington insider previously. Pres O take a little advice from a midwesterner and folow through with a few folks from the hinterland who have not been making thier living off of Washington for their whole lives. There has to be someone from Illinois you met in Chicago or the Illinois legislature that is sharp and has an outside point of view like yours. You really wna tot get them going bring in Lingle from Hawaii or better yet see if Mrs O is interested, she is way smart and is not a Washington insider.

Daschle is/was every bit a vicious partisan attack dog as Pelosi and Reid. I was glad when he got defeated. The same when Delay left office. I thought at that time the D's and R's might work together for the good of the country. I was fooled when Nancy had her nice speech about working w/ the R's. At least w/ the nomination of Daschle and pick of Emanual, the pretense of any bipartisan work can now be put to rest. What Change? The middle of the road voters are in for a shock over Obamas first 100 days. Lets see if the D's get a shock in 2010.

SetRockhead: The Clinton administration had nothing to do with the prosperity of the 90s. They simply rode the wave of Reagan's tax cuts and deregulation (pronounced "Trickle-down Economics"). Clinton left a country in recession, which President Bush was able to counter by cutting taxes again. It is impossible, in my view, for Democrats today to improve the economy; this is because they are devoted to regulation, wealth redistribution, and moral turpitude. If you want to know who kept the economy from tanking in the 90's, it was Newt and Company -- the Conservative Congress -- which kept Hillary-care at bay, and environmental wackos from running business into the ground. We are not quick to judge Tom (the obstructionist) Daschle and his ilk, we had nearly 20 years to watch them attempt to ruin our nation. Wake up! and shake the rocks out of your head.

I know economics is difficult to understand and I certainly hate to be negative about the man who promised "hoep and change"...but are you talking about the Clinton Economy that was based on the technology bubble...sorry but that proved to be a house of cards as well. Nice straw man argument though! The only thing Bill did was loosen the parameters for CRA and we are most definately enjoying the pain of that decision. I'm torn because the intent was good to increase home ownership...but we can see in the long term, feeling good is not always the best coarse of action so you'll have to excuse me if I'm not wearing my rose colored glasses for BO.

So this is real change. Dashchle is a real loser and I helped in his defeat in the Senate. I grew up with Tom in Aberdeen S.D., and I can tell you his values are not what we grew up with. A typical case of radical liberal brainwashing. This is the kind of real change we do not need...so sad to see his return.

OMG, not Daschle! Geez, who else is he going to dig up? This is CHANGE?!?!?!?! One would have to dig through a lot of slime to find anyone nastier, or more irritating than Daschle! YUK! PTOOOEY!

Does this mean his partner in crime Dick Gephart is up for a cabinet position also....ohhh I already feel warm and fuzzy inside. Maybe that is what change feels like.

Why were we all surprised by this pick by the left-wing illuminati. It's all about Clinton, I mean change.
