This isn't a message of unity. They just didn't want someone who knows they Democratic agenda floating around when the don't have a filibuster proof majority. Obama's choices for his cabinet are not unity oriented, they are 100% partisan. The author needs to remember that she was was one of those kicked off of Obama's plane before she starts writing headlines for the article. There's hyperreality and then there is reality and the media seems lost when it comes from distinguishing the two.
I used to be proud to call myself an old liberal, but not anymore. Once the old liberals became as ugly and bitter as the neo-conservatives, I changed my label. Now, I call myself a neo-lib. Neo-libs don't hold grudges; we respect everyone's right to differ. Neo-libs don't mindlessly cleave to beliefs while ignoring other peoples feelings. If the Democratic party starts letting the old-libs influence their adgenda I (like most of Obama's supporters) will leave. It's time to stop the ugliness.
The liberal illuminati are playing so messy these days, and no matter what Obama does, none of the tolerants will approve.
