SOLUTIONS/MICCICHE: What should be done to help the Big Three automakers?

When the rest of America may be forced to make tight their belt with their own finances, then why not big three. If my income is downsized, then the employees, those retired, management and everyone else involved should take a 25% to 50% cugt in pay. Management in addition should be forced to straight salary, loss of stock options and forced to repay bonus for last two years. Then, money might be considered.

All right, Okie, I'm with you. I was totally for not helping the so-called big 3 and letting do what had to be done if they wanted to continue in business. To my amazement, their leaders have gone totally beggar like evoking pure emotion, like what the big 3 did during the big wars. That's all history. The U.S. Ship building industry is gone so why not the big 3? Now if the big 3 leaders come back and tell us they've already done the thing you say, well, then maybe some kind of boost or incentive money could be "loaned" at a mutually beneficial return rate.

The root of this problem is the Auto company's let the perception (based on some facts 70's ,80's ) that US cars are inferior.Most Liberals I know myself NEVER buy big 3 cars now, no cache ,undependable ,too much gas they say .the US cars are now quite adequate but they love the Lexus and Prius now ,the $40,000 volt won't sell with $2 gas .So bail them out and the Lib's will still not be caught dead buying one ,GM ,Ford will still go broke ,the taxpayers will get stuck with their Union pensions ,far above mine and great health care . Obama owes the Unions big time so he will have to fork over the $$$ ,this time anyway .Long term they gotta sell more cars . Sure Toyota manufacturing over here pays about 2/3 of GM pay ,but with no Detroit competition they will move the factory to Indonesia and pay $4 an hour ,not $40 an hour here .

The Democrats owe the unions big time. Obama, Pelosi and Reid will redistribute wealth from the taxpayer to the union bosses and members. Count on it. The unions will be asked to give very little. The Big 3 will be forced to build green autos that no one will want, even the liberals that force them on us.
