ramos and copean should be pardoned

I have always defended Bush when I thought he was right, as I have felt he was a good man with good intentions. In my mind, should he not pardon Ramos and Compean, I will feel I was wrong in my judgment of his character and Christianity.

I will be watching this story unfold over the next 50 days or so. I have changed my mind about the potential blanket pardon scenario. I am starting to believe that W may not issue very many pardons at all. I think that in his insulated and isolated world view, that he does not think that he has done anything wrong and that certain kinds of pardons would lend credence to the beliefs of millions of people that he is the worst president in a hundred years. Unlike Cheney, I think that W believes his own propaganda.

Perhaps he can pardon president elect Obama in advance for deceiving the less than intelligent who believed he was a natual born citizen and eligible to be president

Even with a conservative approach, President Bush should grant pardons to Border Patrol agents, Ramos and Compean. The circumstances of their case and their prosecution cry out for justice. In a less gentlemanly time where justice was less in the hands of small-minded lawyers and, instead, in the hands of men endowed with basic common sense, no one would ever have considered going after Ramos and Compean. And if some prosecutor did so, especially granting immunity to felonious scum as Sutton did, he could look forward to being tarred, feathered, and forever banished from civilized society. President Bush, give justice to the unfairly oppressed, and free these men in time for Christmas!!!

Neither Ramos nor Compean should have ever been arrested for shooting, what turned out to be a drug smuggler. So yes they should be the first pardoned.

We can flood the White House with pleas for the pardons of Border Patrol agents, Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean. Send to comments@whitehouse.gov

White House officials and Senate Democrats met in private three times last week to craft health care legislation. Do you think these discussions should be more public?
