Another ringer in the tank. Cancel the debate, just cancel and move on. It's an ongoing disgrace to so-called "journalism". Dump the ringer and go with Sean Hannity. Or,would that be too much to handle?

Gwen Ifil has no business moderating the debate tomorrow. If she had any pride or integrity, she would step aside. She doesn't so she won't. She wants Obama to win so she can sell books and further her position in the dying mainstream media. These are just awful people.

Gwen Ifil will be known as "Gwen Awful" if she does not have the integrity to step down. When you fail to disclose a financial stake in the outcome of an event, you compromise your reputation and the event itself. I wonder if she will do a book signing at the end of it? If she does not step down, the entire debate will be invalid. Impartiality is crucial in these events, to say nothing of basic fairness. But if the country is not outraged at this point, there is not much that can be done, other than build toward a complete revolution in the media to exorcise it from this filth, bias, and corruption.

Wake up folks..did you ever hear of conflict of interest. If she had any professionalism she would remove herself from this debate. What ever happened to common sense and a level playing field. Hey Democrats what outrage there would be if this situation were reversed. A book on McCain being published by Bret Hume the moderator of this debate.

Pelosi...funny lady. Better to keep ones mouth shut and be thought stupid then to open it and remove all doubt. Now there is a lady that should have a telepromper like Obama with pre-canned speeches so not to put their foot in their mouth.

Question for truthspeaker1 and SDindependent. Do you think that Ifill's book sales would be helped or hurt by an McCain win? She should resign or admit this fact at the beginning of the debate. A clear statement of her apparent conflict of interest would allow her to continue.

If Obama appeared at Saddleback church in a debate hosted by GOP lackey Rick Warren, then McGoo should be forced to face Keith Olberman in one. McCain needs to grow a set. His answers will be his alone as will Obama's, as will Palin's tonight. I fully expect though a full-press whine fest from the neo-cons about how the answers were misconstrued and out of context.

"journalistic integrity" - isn't that an oxymoron these days?

In responding to critics of her obvious bias as a supposedly neutral moderator Ifill managed to drag out the race card. It would seem that anyone who disagrees with a black is automatically racist. The charge of racism is the now the last refuge of scoundrels.

By: SDindependent The book was announced in July idiots, a month before the debate agreement between the campaigns. It is only the right wink dipsticks that are just hearing about the book. McCain still, as of today, yes today Wed. has no problem with the moderator. You guys are fools. So far right you are in danger of falling off the edge of the flat earth you inherited. So best you shut your pie face before someone inserts a foot up your arse.

Another example of the Liberal media not showing any bias-ha-ha.

In all fairness, maybe we should get Rush Limbaugh to moderate the next debate. . . .

To Mag7: In the Saddleback forum, the candidates accepted an invitation from Rick Warren. In the present debate, the media appointed Ifill after the candidates had agreed to debate. These two circumstances aren't the least similar. On the other hand, it is comfortably predictable that knee-jerk pseudo quid-pro-quo's are the first response of lefties who have no otherwise substantial arguments.

* I wonder if she'll be allowed to wear her Obama-08 tee-shirt. Or perhaps we can get a coffee mug and a save the planet tote bag for watching. The very idea that a publicly funded, by all of our tax $$$, network is allowed to be partisan is asinine and after the bail out belt tightening should be #1 on the chopping block. *bert

If Ifill had any journalistic integrity she would have stepped aside as moderator. Having a financial stake in the outcome of the election is a clear conflict of interest. Even if she is trying to be fair, just the appearance of impropriety is a distraction to the debate itself. I have lost a lot of respect for her. Lehrer should do all of the debates, he did a great job in the first one.
