Biden Gaffe Free? Only if you discount the more than 16 lies he told, and the fact that he botched the role of the Vice Presidency, showing his shocking unfamiliarity with the Constitution after so many years in the Senate. I have been reading the Times since Ronald Reagan was President, but, lately, this paper doesn't remind me of the paper it used to be with articles defending Gwen Ifill's conflict of interest, attacking and belittling her conservative critics, and now this bull hockey about a Gaffe Free Biden. And although "Stand Up Chuck," Joe might have been correct in his use of the word Bosniac, who the hell goes around using that word to identify the people of Bosnia, but Joe Biden or someone greatly familiar with the historical arcane?

Palin performed as well as one could hope for a woman that is an average American with no real experience, knowledge, or curiosity about the world. She did about as well as the mayor of my little town would if tossed on to the national stage and had 5 weeks of intense preparation. She seems like a nice woman that has a good heart. But there's a few million Americans just like her. She is still unqualified to be a heart beat away from the presidency. McCain's reckless choice endangers the America we all love. Palin needed a far stronger performance than she gave. She should step aside.

Some thoughts: Palin did great! With all the vitriol she experienced she walked out there and took on the liberal establishment. Women still can't make up there mind? How unusual. Maybe Palin could promise them to take them shopping at the mall, that would do it. Or maybe they should become politically literate and know what liberals and conservatives stand for instead of what Brittany Spears did yesterday. I do think Palin should have done two things better. She should have stressed more that she was a fresh outsider with clear thinking and not owing to all the lobbyists that others do. That she has a different perspective that could be good for this federal government. Afterall, look where we are with the lifelong "professionals". Second, she should have looked into the camera and said "Are you happy paying $4.00 a gallon for gasoline America? If you elect me I will promise you I will work tirelessly to bring more petroleum out of our natural resource of abundance. Lower gas prices will give you more money in your pocket than any tax cut, tax deduction, or promised government handout. We have oil, why do we by it from countries who use our dollars against us and CONTROL our economy and wallet and your life?

She performed and probably got away with it, but only because most people don't pay attention to what you say. Much has been made about her "executive" experience. As a businessman myself, I can assure you however, if she answered questions the way she did in that debate in front of my Board of Directors, she would have been shredded to bits.

The debate was most notable for what it did NOT address---the Democrats responsibility for the entire economic mess in the first place. If I were to fault Sarah it would be that she did not hit Biden and the Democrats hard enough for their responsibility in blocking, stalling, and sandbagging legislation that would have saved America from this financial meltdown. The Dems created this mess, and now some people want us to hand it over to them for the solution. Sarah should have slammed Hair Plug for this. She did a little, but not hard enough.

Even if most of the voters in America reject Obama, he will still beat John McCain. Why? Massive voter fraud perpetrated by Obama's group ACORN (click on site, scroll down--CAUTION: You may need to be sitting down): http://mcauleysworld.wordpress.com/2008/10/04/acorn-a-threat-to-democracy-in-american/

It's comical to watch a person who has repeatedly and painfully demonstrated her own ineptitude campaign as if we missed it. Behind those confident zingers is an echo.
