My wife and I have to delay our retirement indefinitely. Our 401K's have tanked, our home value is 2/3rds of what it was. Inflation has raised the price food and other necessities, gas is $3.50 a gallon.
Guess who I am voting for.
To ttolley, if you are voting for Obama, you are not going to gain anything. Nothing in his proposals are going to benefit you. The only thing his tax increases will do is shrink the value of your 401K even further. And he is not going to drill, OR build any new refineries, so therefore his energy plan is pretty much the status quo, so don't expect gas prices to come down any under his administration, especially after he implements his "Windfall Profits Tax". If anything, you'll be paying $6.00/gal. As for the value of your home, you are just going to have to ride it out, nothing Obama nor McCain can do about that one.
AND ttolley, you can mostly thank The One We Have Been Waiting For and His friends for your situation today.
Oh dear! From the outset this silly bit of wishful thinking bites the dust. In fact, Obama's lead in the polls has just increased to 6% (realclearpolitics).
Lambro then reverts to type - rehashing all the time worn cliches used by the stinking rich when they try to cod us that taxes (which they understandably loath and hate) hurt the poor and middle-classes more than the rich. Funny, the poor and middle-classes don't buy this whingeing from poor li'l rich boy.
