
A week's roundup on the campaign trail:
Tuesday: On the campaign trail, Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain holds a small-business round table and tries to regroup a day after the House defeated a $700 billion Wall Street bailout.
Wednesday: Mr. McCain returns to Washington to vote for the Senate version of the Wall Street bailout, which couples the $700 billion rescue package with an additional $150 billion in tax breaks.
Thursday: Running mate Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin faces off with Democratic vice-presidential nominee Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. in their only debate. Meanwhile, the McCain campaign announces it is no longer competing for Michigan.
Friday: The McCain campaign announces an ad attacking Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama as one of the "congressional liberals" who wants to raise taxes.
Saturday: Mr. McCain is off the campaign trail in Arizona to prepare for the second presidential debate while Mrs. Palin raises money and campaigns in California.
Sunday: After the New York Times publishes a story on Mr. Obama's ties to William Ayers, Mrs. Palin raises the issue on the campaign trail. Mr. McCain is still in Arizona preparing for the debate.
Monday: The McCain campaign fires off a new ad calling Mr. Obama both "dishonorable" and "dangerous."
