Democrats call for delay of new FBI authority

The Clinton administration sure didn't defer anything until the next administration. Clinton was busy issuing rules, regs and executive orders right up to the glorious day he left. And even though the election is next month, it is President Bush until Jan. 20. I know Democrats find this hard to understand, but the Congress is not the Executive. If the next pres wants to make changes, he can do so. What are Democrats afraid of? I think they think the next pres will be Obama. And they are scared that if Obama undoes anything Bush does, and something happens, their guy will get the blame. So Democrats would rather put us at peril than to take such a chance. If something happens after Jan. 20 and someone indicates that some change would have prevented it, they want to bea ble to point to the Bush administration and say that "Bush did not do it either". Hey Harry and Nancy, the election is next month. How dare you pass any legislation, hold any hearings or perform anything that the next Congress can do. I wonder if the journalists thought to bring up that point?

Right on RDH. If Pelosi or Reid had been in office/power in the ole' days, Ayer's would have blown Harvard, Yale, UCLA and a few others off the map before the FBI would have been officially authorized (by P/R philosophy) to open a case. Michael German is full of it. The FBI has never had the requirement of having a "factual predicate" (whatever that really means)before investigating American citizens in criminal violations. We never had/have money or time to investigate pointless matters. After 9/11 the gray area between criminal and other violations has been confusing. The new rules try to clarify this. I speak with an extensive background in this area - res ipsa loquitur. If the FBI/Republicans wrote anything favoring children, God, mothers, the poor, little league - the Democrats would oppose it. I use to be one -but I have been "saved."

I don't think this is a good idea. The experienced officials should make that call, because the liberal illuminati aren't experienced, and if they get in, their decision could blow up in our face.
